Amazing Range in Bucks County
Wicen's Shooting Range is the most amazing place I have ever been to. The staff is kind and knowledgeable, they will do everything they can to make sure that you know how to safely and effectively use your weapon.
Not only can you shoot your handguns there but also rifles, shot guns, and they offer bow and arrow and skeet shooting.
They do NOT sell ammo, but they do sell targets and the prices are very reasonable. It is only 15 dollars for a whole day of shooting! For first time users it is 7 dollars for a range badge because you have to be checked out and marked off for every area where you would like to shoot, but that is a one time fee as long as you do not loose your badge.
It is an outdoor range but it is open all year long with the exception of February, which is normally the coldest month around here anyway. You do shoot from bunkers in both the rifle and handgun sections. Handguns can be shot standing up but rifles can only be shot from a seated position. If using a semi auto rifle or handgun that automatically ejects the casings try to sit on the left side of the bunker as the casings can eject onto the person on the right side :) though that is not harmful.
Wicen's is very big on safety, it is their #1 priority which I love. They are very strict about their rules and if you break one knowingly or purposely put others in danger you can and will be banned from the range.
I recommend this range to all of my family and friends, it is definitely a 5 star shooting range!

A gem in Bucks County
Especially for those folks who don't belong to private ranges, Wicen's is fantastic. Nice location in scenic Buckingham Township, on an old working farm, but still convenient to folks in Philly and the suburbs. 100-yard rifle range, 25-yard handgun range, shotgun range for shooting clays as well. OUTSTANDING staff -- very good group of RSOs, and Joe and Lori Wicen, Mike Wolfe, and the others keep a close eye on everyone and are very nice, down-to-earth people. They are very strict on safety, which I like, and which is essential especially with the number of new shooters they get.
Each position on the rifle and pistol range is covered by a large, sloping concrete baffle, which prevents anyone from shooting over the berm (and I guess helps a little with noise abatement for the neighbors). Anyway, the downside to this is that with rifle, you can only shoot from the bench - no standing, kneeling, prone positions, etc. They will allow you to shoot handgun from a standing position, once you have demonstrated you know what you're doing.
Wicen's also teaches a full slate of NRA classes in the learning center next to the shotgun range. I've heard there are plans to expand and build an indoor range there, but who knows when that might happen.
The range fee is $15 per day ($5 for kids and I think $10 for LEOs and military). The first time you shoot there, you also need to get a range safety badge for each section of the range you want to use (rifle, handgun, shotgun). Those permits are $7 each, but that's a one-time charge only -- once you have the range safety badge, you can shoot all day for $15. Wicen's doesn't sell ammo but does sell targets and some accessories.
In short, Wicen's is a one-of-a-kind range in southeast PA -- an outdoor 100-yard range (with pistol and shotgun ranges) that is open to the public, convenient, and well-operated. In an area that is overrun with shopping malls and housing developments, it's a treasure.
