Austin Shooting Ranges
Austin shooting ranges have got some good variety. You have a lot of nice choices, all listed below.
There are just a few things to keep in mind when selecting a range. First, check if any of the shooting ranges in Austin have no membership requirements or are clubs. A lot of shooting clubs require membership, but is often times a great deal if you intend to go to the range more then twice a year. Call ahead, check their website, or send an email to ask first.
You'll also want to call ahead to check on range time and availability. Making a note of the weather for the day is also a good idea.
Next, think of what you want to shoot. Pistols and handguns are best suited for indoor ranges. Rifles and shotguns are best for outdoor ranges, which typically have longer range distances. Shotguns in particular are better with an outdoor range, where you can shoot trap or skeet or other clay sports.
Ranges often offer other services, which tend to include range time in the price; things like firearms training and certifications. If you could use a lesson or a certificaiton, its often best to combine the two together.
